| ROCHESTER, N.Y., April 02,
2008 -- Xerox Corporation and the Printing Industries of America/Graphic Arts
Technical Foundation have joined to educate print providers on the essentials
of running a successful digital printing business. The 2008 PIA/GATF Digital Print
Webinar Series features leading industry experts speaking on a range of topics
in sales and marketing, print operations and business development.
"With more printers adopting digital, we want to ensure our members have
the appropriate resources to be successful in the digital space," said
Lisa Rawa, vice president, marketing, PIA/GATF. "This Webinar series is
a great opportunity for our members to learn strategies for generating profit
and growth with digital printing."
The next session is on April 8 from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. EDT by Peter Muir, president,
Bizucate, Inc., on "Be the Expert: Growing Your Customer's Business."
The series of seven Webinars kicked off on Feb. 12 with a presentation by Muir
on "Building a Digital Print Business: Strategy and Sales Approaches,"
which was attended by 135 industry professionals. A rebroadcast is available
at: www.brainshark.com/xerox/vu?pi=290522261.
"Peter's presentation was very informative," said Dave Revzin, account
executive, The Zenger Group, a full-service graphic communications provider
in Buffalo, N.Y., who attended the first session and has sold digital printing
for about eight years. "It can be a very difficult undertaking to get less
experienced print buyers to understand why variable printing can give them a
bigger bang for the buck. I welcome opportunities like this to solidify my understanding
of the process and give me something new I can put in my bag of tricks. I'm
almost certain I'll attend more of the Webinars in this series."
Xerox has a number of other programs with the PIA/GATF, including the Buying
Power Program, offering discounts on Xerox equipment to PIA/GATF members. In
addition, the PIA/GATF Center for Digital Print Excellence in Sewickley, Pa.,
an institution which promotes print through teaching, research and internal
development, uses Xerox digital printing equipment including a Xerox iGen3™
110 Digital Production Press and a Xerox Book Factory.
